McGloin Grabs Second POG Honor

Few players have grabbed back-to-back Player of the Game honors in consecutive weeks; among the players who have received back-to-back nods are Paul Posluszny and Michael Robinson. Now Matt McGloin joins their ranks as he picks up his second POG honor from fans.

Last week Matt McGloin picked up his first Player of the Game honor for his gutsy performance against Michigan. This week, Penn State fans gave McGloin another pat on the back for leading the comeback to grab Joe Paterno win No. 400.

McGloin ended the day going 18 for 29 (62%) for 225 yards, 4 touchdowns and no interceptions. Here are what some fans had to say about his performance and why they voted for him:

"Gotta go with McGloin this week. Kid is a player. I stand corrected; if the team plays like this with McGloin at the helm, then let him play."

"I voted for McGloin and agree that he should be in the lead right now."

"McGloin for the 2nd week in a row for me. He just makes the team better and makes clutch plays when they are needed."

"McGloin makes the entire team a winner! What a difference one player can make!"

Here is how the voting broke down:

Matt McGloin: 56%
Michael Mauti: 21%
Silas Redd: 12%
Evan Royster: 9%
Ollie Ogbu: 2%

The FOS/Huddle Up Player of the Game Award is the first and only honor given to Penn State football players by Penn State football fans. Voting is exclusively conducted at after every game.
