Wrestlers Move to Top Spot

Penn State's weekend blowouts over Pitt and Indiana, coupled with a stumble by previous No. 1 Cornell paved the way for the PSU wrestlers to move up to the top spot in the nation.

Out to their best start in program history, undefeated (13-0) Penn State moved up to the No. 1 position with 96 points, one point ahead of No. 2 Cornell. The top five filled out with Boise State, Oklahoma State and Minnesota.

The Big Ten boasts four teams in the top 10 and eight teams in the top 25, with nine if Nebraska is included. Those teams are Penn State (No. 1), Minnesota (No. 5), Wisconsin (No. 6), Iowa (No. 10) , Illinois (No. 13), Indiana (No. 18), Michigan (No. 20), Nebraska (No. 22), Northwestern (No. 23).
