Cory's PSU Recruiting Notebook

Get the latest on Penn State's most recent offers for the Class of 2012 from Cory James in his Recruiting Notebook.

With a multitude of Penn State offers getting extended recently, Cory James provides a summary6 of the Lions' activities in his Recruiting Notebook. Here are his notes:

  • I talked to WR Eugene Lewis who told me that PSU offered him the other day. He is planning to sit down with his dad and discuss where he is going to visit this spring, but he seems interested in the Nittany Lions.

  • I talked to QB/ATH Devin Fuller who was offered last night by PSU. Dick Anderson had talked to his coach and extended the offer. He said he plans to visit PSU in the spring for a practice and he is visiting Georgia Tech this weekend. He said his offer is for QB/Athlete. He said he wants to play QB, but if the school he chooses wants him to play elsewhere he will help the team however he can. He also mentioned he will probably make a decision before the season privately with his family and then will take some official visits during the season just to be sure he picked the right school and then go public.

  • I talked to RB Drew Harris who received an offer via his coach from Coach Vanderlinden today. He also picked up an Illinois offer. He said he is hearing Notre Dame is talking to his coach a lot as well. His favorite school growing up was USC, but I did ask him about the in-state Nittany Lions. "Penn State has a great tradition. They had Aaron Harris and Franco Harris, so who knows maybe I can be another in a line of Harris'." Harris said all the schools are recruiting him as a RB.

  • I talked to Camren Williams and Armani Reeves last night. They confirmed that they have verbal offers from Penn State. Camren Williams said he will visit PSU for a spring practice, but Reeves said he was unsure where he would visit yet this spring.

  • I talked to a pair of PA offensive linemen that are hoping for PSU offers. JJ Denman and Chris Muller said they have been in contact with PSU a lot recently, but they have not been offered yet. Both seemed to really want an offer from PSU and I suspect would have them high on their list. I do expect PSU to be ultra-selective on OL in this class with the hauls they had the last two years. However, I would be surprised if at least 1 of these 2 didnt have an offer fairly soon.

  • And according to's Chad Simmons, PSU has offered 5 star NC RB Keith Marshall as well.

I'll be tracking down more recruits over the weekend hopefully, but as you can see a lot of action going on right now.
