• This is Penn State's first trip to the NCAA Tournament since 2001, where it lost to … Temple in the Sweet 16.

• The Owls lead the all-time series between the former A-10 rivals, 59-32, and have won six straight in the series.

• The 2001 win over Penn State was Temple's last victory in the NCAA Tournament. The Owls have lost in the opening round of the tourney the last three years, to Michigan State, Arizona State and Cornell.

• Penn State has sold about 150 tickets for the game. Officials are expected about 200-300 PSU fan to show up for the game, in all.

• Former Nittany Lion football players Michael Robinson and Bryant Johnson will be in the house today. So will former PSU hoop player Danny Morrissey.

• Penn State has won seven of 10, with the only losses in that span to No. 10 Wisconsin (once) and No. 1 Ohio State (twice).

•The loser of this game will fly back to Pennsylvania Thursday evening.
