SHORT REPORT: Drake Out Again

FOS has learned that the redshirt sophomore receiver has been sidelined due to injury. How long will he be out?

Curtis Drake's return to action for the Penn State football team was short-lived.

Drake, the versatile redshirt sophomore who missed the entire 2010 campaign after breaking his left leg in the preseason, hoped to be full go for spring ball, which began Saturday.

Earlier this week, however, he "came up limping" in practice, according to one program observer.

Two different sources said the coaching staff has decided to shelve Drake for the rest of spring ball as a precautionary measure.

Prior to Penn State's Outback Bowl loss to Florida, Drake said the break was fully healed. However, as he was starting to do activities that put pressure on his left leg, he began to experience pain in his left knee.

It is not clear which part of the leg is causing the latest problem for Drake.
