FOS-GALLERY: Recruits (and More Recruits)

Bad weather may have kept fans away from Penn State spring game. But recruits showed up en masse.

When prospects and their families gathered in the Beaver Stadium recruiting lounge prior to Penn State's Blue-White Game Saturday, there were so many people on hand that recruiting coordinator Mike McQueary had to shout so everyone could hear him.

He profusely thanked everybody for traveling to Happy Valley on the rainy, windswept day, reminded them all that on typical spring afternoon the scrimmage has been known to draw more than 70,000 fans and insisted that — even with a much smaller than usual turnout this year due to the weather — the Nittany Lions have the best fans in the nation.

More than 60 recruits (and 2011 signees) were on hand for the game. FOS photographer Harvey Levine was able to capture images of the vast majority of them.
