Ekanem Plays Waiting Game

Four-star DE Ken Ekanem has offers from nine major programs. But one teams of high interest to him has yet to offer – Penn State. He talked to Fight On State about his interest in the Lions and their interest in him.

Clifton, Va., standout DE Ken Ekanem has been waiting on an offer from Penn State – and is now doubtful that he will get one.

"I haven't gotten much since the visit to Penn State," Ekanem said of contact with the staff.

Ekanem visited Happy Valley March 26 — and he liked what he saw.

"I liked Penn State a lot," Ekanem said. "My favorite thing was meeting the coaches and seeing spring practice."

The lack of attention has forced the Lions down on his list, but not out quite yet.

"It knocks Penn State down in my favorites," Ekanem said. "I got a hint that they are not going to offer."

So far, Ekanem is taking the recruiting process in stride and has yet to make any big decisions.

"I don't really have any favorites at the moment," Ekanem said. "I am trying to keep an open mind throughout the process."

Ekanem attended a combine this past Sunday at Virginia Tech and has plans to attend the Penn State Nike Camp April 30.
