As a junior last season, Nick threw for an impressive 2,132 yards and 21 touchdowns. He also ran for an additional 7 scores.
Although he is still awaiting his first official scholarship offer, many teams are actively pursuing Skeparnias.
"The teams most interested are Indiana, Illinois, Duke, Maryland, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Boston College, Northwestern's flying in to see me at the Nike Camp, Rutgers and Temple," Nick said. "Vanderbilt's coming up [to the Nike Camp] to see me too. Maryland's also going to make arrangements to come up and see us there."
Nick, who has been to Penn State's Holuba Hall indoor facility many times, will return there this Sunday for the Nike Camp with hopes to impress the many onlookers.
"I went to a camp up there last year and that's where Jay [Paterno] was really interested in me. Jay's really cool. I met him quite a few times.
We're going to the Blue-White game on Saturday too."
So far, Nick has made unofficial visits to Penn State, Purdue and Maryland.
"I've been invited to all the junior days pretty much, but I do track right now, so it's tough to get out and take visits on the weekends because we have invitationals on Saturdays."
Nick participates in the 4 x 100 meter events and the 200 meter events.
"The best time I ever had on the 4 x 100 is around 11.3, 11.4."
Skeparnias and his father will be very busy in the coming months.
"This summer, depending on how the Nike Camp goes, we're taking 3 weeks. One week, we're going out west to Michigan, driving out there in the beginning of the summer, like the last 2 weeks of June. After that, I have to come back and do a 7-on-7 camp. Then, I'm going down south as far as Clemson and will hit Richmond, Duke, NC State, North Carolina, South Carolina, schools like that. After that, I come back up for another 7-on-7 camp. From there, I leave and go up to Syracuse.
"My favorites are probably Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, North Carolina, Pitt, definitely Penn State, Duke and Boston College."
Nick is no stranger to Penn State.
"I was there at the last Nike Camp but didn't participate. One of my teammates, Adam Cherry, participated. I also went to 4 games this past year."
Skeparnias is looking forward to returning to Happy Valley this weekend and showcasing his talents along side some of the top quarterback prospects in the nation, Penn Hill's Anthony Morelli and Wilson's Chad Henne.
