SOURCES: Penn State Nears Deal

Multiple sources tell that Boston University head coach Pat Chambers is expected to become the next head coach of the men's basketball program at University Park.

Multiple sources tell that former Villanova assitant and current Boston University head coach Patrick Chambers has been offered the men's basketball head coaching job at Penn State, replacing Ed DeChellis who recently took the head hoops job for Navy.

At least one former Penn State player has been told Chambers will be the next PSU head coach. Also, a source at Boston University tells FOS that Chambers left his office earlier today reportedly to travel to University Park.

On a related note a private flight took off from Boston Logan Airport at 3:04 pm ET and arrived at University Park at 4:04 pm ET.

In the past 24 hours Duquesne's Ron Everhart and Milwaukee's Rob Jeter "withdrew" their names from consideration for the Penn State head position, further indicating that Chambers is the likely selection.
