Catching Up With Cox

Demetrious Cox has quickly emerged as one of the top DB prospects in the Northeast. Fight On State catches up with the Jeannette HS standout about his summer plans and an upcoming phone call.

One of Penn State's top secondary targets, Demetrious Cox, is officially a senior at Jeannette HS (Pa.), and is beginning to realize how close to college he actually is.

Cox has one year till he enrolls in the college of his choice -- and putting it simply?

"I can't wait," Cox said.

The highly recruited safety prospect has landed 25 BCS offers, and is regarded as one of the top DB targets in the Northeast. But even with all the hype, Cox isn't stressing about his recruiting.

He has no visits planned as of now for this summer, but admits he wants to take a few eventually -- including one to Happy Valley.

"Nothing planned with Penn State yet," Cox said of his summer plans. "But I'm coming there though."

Cox has not released a list of his favorite schools, but PSU seems to be staying in the game. How? By pulling out all the stops, like arranging a talk with Head Coach Joe Paterno.

"I was asked to Skype," Cox said. "But I don't Skype, so I am just getting a phone call."

Cox and Paterno will connect tomorrow morning, and Cox has expressed that he is very excited about the upcoming call.
