Tyson Talks Offer

Norfolk, Va., DB Mike Tyson is leaving Penn State camp with something he didn't expect -- and offer. He talks to FOS about the Lions and the rest of his summer plans.

The Penn State football camps had barely begun, but by Sunday evening the staff had already given out an offer -- to Lake Taylor DB Mike Tyson.

"I had heard about it," Tyson said of his new offer. "But I didn't expect it this early."

The Lions became the third on Tyson's offer list, along with Virginia and North Carolina Central.

The Norfolk, Va., standout DB is familiar with PSU, and is excited about his new offer.

"Yes, I am liking Penn State," Tyson said. "I came last year to camp too."

After just one day of camp, the coaching staff pulled Tyson aside to break the news to him.

"Coach Buggs offered me," Tyson said. "He took me on a little visit around campus, the stadium, and the facilities."

But the big question is, how interested is he Penn State?

"Somewhat," Tyson replied briefly.

Tyson plans on making several more visits before he begins to evaluate his options.

"I am going to the Maryland one day camp when I get back," Tyson said. "Then I will visit James Madison and East Carolina."

Tyson is in Happy Valley through Wednesday to finish up the remainder of Football Camp I.
