Another Assistant Joins Chambers' Staff

Pat Chambers expands his staff with another assistant coach with deep roots in the Philadelphia region. Meet Brian Daly.

After adding Eugene Burroughs from Navy and Keith Urgo from Villanova to his Penn State staff, Pat Chambers now pulls in Brian Daly who served with him at Boston University.

Brian Daly joined the Terriers in 2009 season as assistant coach and was promoted in May 2011 to associate head coach at BU. Daly served as interim head coach after Pat Chambers' departure to Happy Valley and was a finalist for the Terrier head coaching job.

Like Chambers, Daly has deep roots in the Philadelphia region. Previously he served as head coach of the Monsignor Bonner High School boys' varsity team for four years, where he also attended and played.

During his tenure he led his squad to the Catholic League playoffs each of his four seasons after the program missed the playoffs the previous five seasons.

Daly was a four-year letterman at St. Joseph's from 1988 to 1992, playing under head coach Phil Martelli who was an assistant at the time. He also served on the sidelines of Arcadia University and previously coached the Penncrest High School JV team.

Daly was honored as Philadelphia Player of the Year after his senior season at Monsignor Bonner in 1988.
