Mahone Talks PSU Visit

Four-Star Ohio Running back William Mahone is in the middle of a whirlwind tour of schools -- including Penn State. He spoke to Fight On State about his Saturday visit to Happy Valley.

Fitch HS standout RB William Mahone has been busy traveling around to schools of interest this summer -- but that didn't stop him from taking a few minutes to reflect on Saturday's visit to Penn State.

"It was great," Mahone said. "Camren Williams, Armani Reeves, and this one lineman from Colorado [Joey O'Conner] and I all ate lunch together, and we just got along real well."

Mahone was impressed by more than just the company in State College -- he liked the competition as well.

"Camp was great I actually got to go up against Cam in one-on-ones," Mahone said. "And in 7-on-7."

The result? "I beat him twice he got me once," Mahone said.

The Penn State Camp provided a unique setting where future collegiate players like Mahone and Mass., LB Camren Williams could meet each other. Williams, one of the first in the class of 2012 to commit to the Lions, was pretty impressed by Mahone.

"I like Will a lot," Williams said. "And he's really good."

But perhaps most importantly to Lion's fans, Mahone's overall impression of Penn State was pretty clear.

"I just had a great time," Mahone said.
