Penn State Hoops Lands Pledge

Pat Chambers looks north to the Bay State to pull in the first commitment of his Penn State tenure; a 6-foot-3 guard/forward.

Pat Chambers has reportedly landed his first commitment as Penn State's head coach; and he went back to his old Boson University stomping grounds to do it. Charlestown, Massachusetts guard/forward Akosa Maduegbunam committed to Penn State's Class of 2012.

Chambers had previously offered the 6-foot-3 Maduegbunam while at the helm of the Terriers. The two-time All-City honoree averaged 20.5 points, seven rebounds and three assists over the past two seasons.

Maduegbunam had also offers from Temple, Drexel, University of New Hampshire and Iona.

He was also named to NERR New England Top 25 prospects for the Class of 2012 and ranked in the Top 10 prospects in Massachusetts.
