Ben Gedeon Talks Offers

Hudson (Ohio) High 2013 OLB Ben Gedeon has already racked up two offers. Fight On State talked to the standout about a recent visit to Happy Valley and where he stands in the early recruiting process.

For 2013 Hudson, Ohio, LB standout, Ben Gedeon, football is a way of life.

"Both my older brothers and I started playing football when we were young," Gedeon said. "And I remember playing in the back yard when I was young."

He continued, "Football is my life, but I play basketball too."

And for Gedeon, that attitude is paying off. He has already racked up BCS offers from Penn State and Michigan.

The latest offer came from the Lions, after an impressive performance at their camp.

"I wasn't really expecting the Penn State offer," Gedeon said. "I just wanted to go to the camp and perform well."

Gedeon did just that.

"I talked to Coach Jay Paterno after the camp ended," Gedeon said. "And he told me they were going to offer me."

And his reaction? "Oh yeah, I was excited," Gedeon said.

The Hudson HS standout had been to State College previously but got a chance to do something new during his most recent trip.

"I have been to the Penn State camp two years now," Gedeon said. "Because most of my team goes up for the summer camp. I also got to see the campus and I liked it a lot."

He added, "I like the whole campus, I like how it is centered around the football stadium, and how its a college town."

Gedeon still has a few more schools that he would like to hear from as his recruiting journey continues.

"Probably Ohio State, Boston College, Northwestern and a couple other ACC schools," Gedeonsaid "That's who I would like offers from."

But he realizes he is still very early in the process.

"I am just going with the flow," Gedeon said. "Maybe around this time next year I will commit somewhere."

But for Gedeon, who is shaping up to be one of the top 2013 LB prospects, an early offer from Penn State is exciting.

"It's pretty sweet," Gedeon said. "Linebacker U., that would be awesome."
