PA's Top 25 Jrs. & More

Pennsylvania consistently produces some of the most talented and highly recruited football players in the country. Who are this year's elite Keystone gridders and maybe next year's Big 33 stars?

Home Town (High School)
Ht., Wt.
1. Chad Henne
West Lawn (Wilson HS)
6-3, 210
Impressed at Nike Camp.  Big arm/great feet and has shown his ability consistently.  Looked 220+ at Nike Camp.
2. Anthony Morelli
Pittsburgh (Penn Hills HS)
6-4, 210
Equally impressive as Henne at Nike.  Showed better feet than advertised.  Needs to be more consistent in pads.
3. Dan Connor
Wallingford (Strath Haven HS)
6-3, 215
Tremendous instincts and athleticsm, seperate him from any linebacker in state.  Should make a decision over the summer.
4. A.Q. Shipley
Coraopolis (Moon HS)
6-3, 278
Wide shoulders left fans wowed at Blue White game.  Will test at Nike Camp in Virginia Tech.  Could be a Nittany Lion soon?
5. James Bryant
Reading (Reading HS)
6-3, 240
Tremendous body.  Best linebacker at Nike, hands down.  Great athlete, but not an instinctual linebacker.
6. Tyrell Sales
Butler (Butler HS)
6-3, 225
Rising up the charts.  Great combo of grades and athleticsm.  Will join A.Q. at Nike Camp in Blacksburg.
7. Andrew Johnson
Pittsburgh (North Hills HS)
5-10, 200
Serious speed.  Measured in a bit smaller than advertised.  Will be able to go wherever he wants.
8. Kyle Mitchum
Erie (McDowell HS)
6-5, 265
Explosive off the line of scrimmage.  Has frame to add weight easily, but may force a redshirt.  Ohio State/Penn State battle.
9. Greg Harrison
Shenandoah (Shenandoah Valley HS)
6-5, 295
Penn State commit excelled at Nike.  Needs to concentrate on dominating weaker small school opponents.  Great feet.
10. Anthony Heygood
Springfield (Cardinal O'Hara HS)
6-1, 210
Needs to rebound from an injury plagued junior season.  Has BC and Wvu offers.  Ran for close to 1,000 despite injuries.
11. Corey Davis
Pittsburgh (Peabody HS)
6-4, 260
Pittsburgh commit plays linebacker in high school but projects as DE.  Great athlete.
12. Craig Bokor
Hopewell (Hopewell HS)
6-4, 275
Anchor on the Hopewell HS offensive and defensive lines, Bokor will attend the Virginia Tech Nike Camp.  Offers from Pitt, Wva, and UVa.
13. Dan Lawlor
Mechanicsburg (Cumberland Valley HS)
6-2, 230
Strong blocker.  Now has offers from Penn State, Maryland, Iowa, and Vandy.  Dad went to Virginia Tech.
14. Chris Rogers
Wexford (North Alleghany HS)
6-3, 240
Sports offers from Michigan, Penn State and Pittsburgh.  Being recruited as both a tightend and defensive end.
15. Jordan Steffy
Lancaster (Conestoga Valley HS)
6-2, 210
Great athlete playing quarterback.  Sports a canon arm, but needs to find accuracy.  Will be a college QB in the right system.
16. Donte Brown
McKeesport (McKeesport HS)
6-3, 250
Newest Penn State commit.  Big middle linebacker could grow into a defensive end.  Brandon Short comparisons can't hurt.
17. Scott McKillop
Vandergrift (Kiski Area HS)
6-2, 220
Pittsburgh commit measured in small at Nike.  Hard nosed linebacker has good speed.
18. Rory Nicol
Beaver (Beaver HS)
6-5, 240
Jumbo athlete, who competes in hurdles.  Has offers from big schools in midwest and atlantic region.
19. Darrelle Revis
Aliquippa (Aliquippa HS)
6-0, 180
Nephew of former Panther, Sean Gilbert, Darrelle could be the best DB in Pa.  Also a good basketball player.
20. Wyatt Bowman
Mechanicsburg (Cumberland Valley HS)
6-6, 330
Excelled at Nike Camp.  The Penn State commit was said to play with a mean streak that all the great lineman have.
21. Bryan Savage
Haverford (The Haverford School)
6-4, 215
Big and strong armed, Savage thoroughly impressed everyone at Nike.  Like Harrison, he needs to dominate at a lower level.
22. Adam Gunn
Vandergrift (Kiski Area HS)
6-3, 195
Pittsburgh commit, continues the Kiski Area HS pipeline to Oakland.  Great body and speed for a safety.
23. Ryan Purvis
Lancaster (Catholic HS)
6-5, 235
Showed off  great athleticsm in PIAA basketball finals.  No offers yet, but after May evaluation he could move up on this list.
24. Devon Lyons
Pittsburgh (Woodland Hills HS)
6-3, 190
Tested very well at Nike.  Could be safety or wide receiver at the next level.
25. Nick Skeparnias
York (Suburban HS)
6-2, 195
Showed great foot work at Nike, but his arm wasn't in the same class as the above Qbs.  Has the intangibles you can't teach though.
