Golden Talks PSU

Penn State added another big skill position player to their class of 2012 Wednesday, in Cheshire, Conn., DB standout Malik Golden. He talked to Scout.com about his decision and why he chose the Lions.

On Wednesday Penn State picked up their newest Class of 2012 commitment – Cheshire Academy DB Malik Golden.

"I'm committed to Penn State," Golden said.

And the Cheshire, Conn., standout knows he made the right decision.

"I just had a great feeling about it," Golden said. "I think the class coming in is going to be special."

And when did Golden know for sure Penn State was for him?

"Whenever I went there on my unofficial," Golden said. "I just had a great time with the coaches and the players were really accepting."

Golden announced his decision Wednesday night.

"It was very hard to decide," Golden said. "But I just went with my gut feeling, and it was Penn State."

He added, "It's a weight off my shoulder, but I know a lot of kids would kill to be in this position."

Golden wasn't the only one who was excited about his decision.

"The coaches were excited and really happy for me," Golden said. "And I can't wait for this class to get on campus."

A class that seems to be igniting Nittany Nation -- and Golden has something to say about that.

"Let's get ready to win some championships," Golden said.
