Hodges Tackles Game Honor

The vote was tight, but in the end Penn State linebacker Gerald Hodges edged out the competition as Nittany Lion fans selected him as their Player of the Indiana Game.

With a team-high 11 tackles, seven of which were solo and one tackle for loss, Gerald Hodges had an impressive performance for Penn State's defense this past Saturday against Indiana.

The junior linebacker ended up with 33 percent of the vote, in what was a tight race. Hodges edged out defensive tackle Jordan Hill who got 21 percent of the fan vote, receiver Derek Moye with 19 percent, punter/kicker Anthony Fera with 17 percent and running back Silas Redd with 10 percent.

Some of the fan comments on Hodges' performance included:

"He was all over the place and made some really nice plays."

"For me it was a toss up between Hodges and Hill but I went with Hodges. He was in on a bunch of plays."

"Hodges was very active and gets my vote."

The FOS Player of the Game honor is the first and only award given to Penn State players by Penn State fans. Voting is exclusively conducted on FightOnState.com after every PSU football game.
