The top 2013 prospects are already beginning to stand apart from the rest, including Clairton HS (Pa.) standout DB Tyler Boyd.
"I am getting a lot of different Division I letters," Boyd said.
Boyd has begun to hear from plenty of schools and the attention is showing no signs of slowing down.
One school he especially likes? Penn State.
"I feel that they are very interested in me," Boyd said.
And the interest is mutual.
"I like them," Boyd said of Penn State. "They are a great school. I haven't gotten a chance to visit yet, but I am very soon."
He continued, "I am going to be there for the next home game."
Boyd will be on hand Saturday as the Lions take on Purdue.
"I am looking forward to the team, the coaches," Boyd said. "Seeing the whole athletic facilities and their environment."
Boyd has been in contact with PSU assistant Tom Bradley and puts Penn State near the top of his list for several reasons.
"The main thing is the education," Boyd said of his future college choice. "So that comes first. And a nice facility. I am not looking for a place with a bad background."
But that's not the only reason he likes PSU.
"I think I have the chance to get playing time there," Boyd said.
Boyd is versatile, and plays RB along with DB.
"I basically play everything," Boyd said. "I go hard every play, so I'll do anything for my team to win."
