PSU Women's Volleyball Beats No. 1 Huskers

Nittany Lions upset Nebraska Saturday night with a 3-1 victory. It was the Cornhuskers' first loss in Big Ten play.

Four-time defending National Champion Penn State beat No. 1 Nebraska 25-17, 25-15, 17-25, 25-17, posting the 3-1 victory.

Deja McClendon led PSU with 18 kills and hit 27 percent in the match. Micha Hancock had 35 assists and six aces while Katie Slay had eight blocks.

This was Nebraska's first Big Ten loss and only the second this season. Previously, the Huskers lost to Colorado State in five sets.

Head Coach Russ Rose called the victory a "statement win" for his young squad who has five losses, two in Big Ten play this season.
