ILL: Report Card

See who made the grade and who came up short in the Nittany Lions' win over the Illini at Beaver Stadium Saturday.

Our report card from Penn State's 10-7 win over Illinois at Beaver Stadium Saturday.

OVERALL: As nasty as some things may have been, the Lions continue to make plays in the clutch.
Grade: B-

OFFENSE: This would have been a failing grade if not for the 10-play, 80-yard game-winning drive. Again, PSU making things happen when it matters most.
Grade: C-

DEFENSE: Overall an outstanding effort. But the Lions allowed the Illini to move the ball a bit too easily on that final drive.
Grade: B+

SPECIAL TEAMS: Anthony Fera had a tough day. But overall, Penn State made some good things happen in this area.
Grade: B

COACHING: The ridiculous QB rotation must end.
Grade: C

INTANGIBLES: Dare we say it? PSU has the all-important swagger.
Grade: B+

OTHER GUY: The Illini defense manned up. The offense? Not so much.
Grade: C

OFFICIALS: Should never have to review every other play. Illinois had a legit beef on CB D'Anton Lynn's interception.
Grade: D-

CROWD: All things considered -- the crappy weather and crappy offensive play for most of the game - the folks who showed up did a nice job. It was pretty loud on the field at the end of the game.
Grade: B
