It was the press conference that wasn't.
More than 200 media members lined up outside Beaver Stadium Tuesday morning, waiting for Penn State coach Joe Paterno's weekly press conference. It was supposed to be the coach's first availability since the Jerry Sandusky scandal broke late last week.
But nearly 45 minutes after the doors to the media room were supposed to open, Penn State issued a statement saying the event had been called off.
The statement read as follows:
"Due to the on-going legal circumstances centered around the recent allegations and charges, we have determined that today's press conference cannot be held and will not be re-scheduled."
FightOnState.com's Mark Brennan and Neil Rudel of the Altoona Mirror wrapped up the non-event, just the same. Check out the video above.
