JayPa to the Sideline

The son of recently fired Penn State coach Joe Paterno is changing locations on game day. Get the lowdown here.

According to a program source, Penn State quarterbacks coach Jay Paterno will move from the press box to the sideline for Saturday's game with Nebraska.

Normally, this would not be a big deal.

However, Jay Paterno is the son of recently fired PSU coaching legend Joe Paterno. The elder Paterno lost his job in the wake of the Jerry Sandusky scandal that has also resulted in the dismissal of school president Graham Spanier and other administrators.

Jay Paterno, who along with fellow assistant Galen Hall calls the team's offensive plays, has worked from the press box at least since being named quarterbacks coach in 2000.
