Our grades for Penn State's 17-14 loss to Nebraska at Beaver Stadium Saturday. We scored on a curve this week for obvious reasons.

OVERALL: Penn State fell behind 17-0 but didn't quit. Given how difficult the last week was for the players, there is a lot to be said for that.
Grade: B

OFFENSE: Did you realize Penn State had the same number of first downs as Nebraska (21) and more total yards (375-331)?
Grade: C+

DEFENSE: Hold a team to 17 points and you ought to win.
Grade: B-

SPECIAL TEAMS: There really is no other way to say this: Nebraska's kicker/punter had a great day and Penn State's kicker/punter struggled.
Grade: C-

COACHING: Given the radical changes to the staff in the course of three days, it is amazing things went as smoothly as they did.
Grade: C+

INTANGIBLES: The Lions did their best to rally around one another. It just wasn't quite enough.
Grade: C

OTHER GUY: The Cornhuskers bounced back nicely from their loss to Northwestern.
Grade: B

OFFICIALS: Zebras did not seem to be spot-on in this one.
Grade: C-

CROWD: Following an awful week, Penn State fans showed their true colors.
Grade: A+
