Still a Finalist for Nagurski

Penn State senior defensive tackle is among five players vying to be named the nation's top defender.

Penn State defensive tackle Devon Still has been named one of five finalists for the 2011 Bronko Nagurski Trophy. The award, presented by the Football Writers Association of America, goes to the nation's best defensive player.

Still ranks second in the Big Ten with 16.5 tackles for loss. The senior is also in the conference top 10 in sacks with 4.5. His 53 tackles are sixth most at PSU this year. He has forced one fumble and recovered another.

Alabama safety Mark Barron, LSU cornerback Morris Claiborne, Boston College linebacker Luke Kuechly and Illinois end Whitney Mercilus are the other finalists.

The winner will be announced at a ceremony in Charlotte Dec. 12.
