OVERALL: We know this is not a great Ohio State team. But given recent events, that was a great effort by the Nittany Lions.
OFFENSE: It would have been nice to see Penn State keep rolling in the second half. With the lead and a strong defense, though, the key for this group was not making any critical errors in the final 30 minutes. And it didn't. We give extra credit for the Wildcat looks.
DEFENSE: The Buckeyes had one scoring drive longer than 37 yards. Not sure anything more needs to be said.
SPECIAL TEAMS: Anthony Fera was outstanding as a kicker and punter. The Lions didn't get much out of the return game but were not hurt there either.
COACHING: Tom Bradley and his assistants were not perfect, by any means. We don't care about that. Having the players so focused for this game was enough to warrant this grade.
INTANGIBLES: This team proved us wrong by shining in the face of incredible adversity.
OTHER GUY: The Buckeyes are obviously dealing with some of their own issues. This clearly is not vintage Ohio State.
OFFICIALS: Nothing too bad jumped out at us. (Yes, we heard all the beefs about non-holding calls. But that's the case every game).
CROWD: One of the toughest fan bases in the nation showed its best side by treating the Penn State players and coaches with great respect during a very difficult time.
