2013 Virginia QB Looking at PSU

With the ink barely dry on the Class of 2012 LOIs, the PSU staff sets its sights on 2013 class, including a Virginia quarterback who has early interest in Happy Valley.

Although written offers cannot be extended until August 1, Class of 2013 players are already getting verbal invitations from programs, including Virginia quarterback Christian Hackenberg.

A 6-foot-3, 205-pound quarterback, Hackenberg has already received verbal offers from programs like Alabama, Miami, Tennessee, Virginia and Connecticut. With all that early attention though, Hackenberg apparently has interest in the Nittany Lions.

"I feel like I fit their system. It's a great school. And I am originally from the coal region in PA," Hackenberg explained.

In terms of a PSU offer, Hackenberg said, "Yes, they have offered, but I havent talked to Coach O'Brien yet to see where I stand. I plan on doing that when I am up there."

Recruiting Coordinator and Running Back Coach Charles London has been recruiting Hackenberg for Penn State. The Penn State football staff is scheduled to host a Junior Day even at University Park on February 18 and Hackenberg plans on attending with his family.
