FOS TV: Paul Jones

The redshirt sophomore talks about emerging from academic issues to be squarely in the race for the starting quarterback job at Penn State.

After missing the entire 2011 season for academic reasons, Penn State quarterback Paul Jones is back in good standing this spring.

And gaining solid footing in the classroom has allowed the redshirt sophomore to join the fight for the starting job, along with Matt McGloin and Rob Bolden.

None of the QBs looked particularly good in Saturday's Blue-White Game, at least in part because first-year head coach Bill O'Brien limited his offense and the defense seemed to have a good feel for everything that was coming.

Jones connected on 6 of 15 passes for 113 yards, one touchdown and one interception.

Afterward, he talked candidly — and at length — to the media about a variety of topics, including the academic problems. And he admitted to being moved to tears while stepping off the bus and heading into the locker room before the game.

Check out some of what he had to say below.
