Mazgajewski Will be Back at Penn State

Virginia product is among the recruits who will be looking to prove themselves at PSU's summer camp. He was in town for the Blue-White Game last weekend.

Virginia recruit Jacob Mazgajewski came away from his visit to Penn State with his eyes wide open and a date set to return for camp this summer.

“The visit far exceeded my expectations, and opened my eyes to how hard I need to work in the classroom and on the field to be able to play here,” said Mazgajewsi, whose name is pronounced Maz-GUY-yes-KEY.

The 2013 recruit was originally being recruited as an offensive tackle by area recruiter Charles London, but once he arrived on campus, offensive line coach Mac McWhorter had another idea.

“Coach McWhorter said he liked my wing span, but that I was smaller than he anticipated,” Mazgajewski said. He is listed as 6-foot-6, 250 pounds.

“When I come to camp I will see what they think I should go with, but right now it's between tight end and tackle.”

Mazgajewski will attend a one day camp on June 16 and also has been visited by Navy, Old Dominion, Richmond and William & Mary. He's unsure whether a Penn State coach will visit his school prior to camp.

Mazgajewski said his family's proximity to Penn State would be one of the reasons attending Penn State would be “awesome.”

“Attending Penn State would be awesome because I know I have a support system up there. I have family in State College,” Mazgajewski said.
