Penn State's Lift For Life is celebrating it's 10th anniversary on Friday, July 13 from 5 pm to 7 pm in PSU's new lacrosse stadium (or in Holuba Hall in case of inclement weather). It coincides with Arts Fest weekend in State College.

The event features a competitive conditioning event which will pit the offensive and defensive players against each other. The event is open to the public and a nominal donation is requested at the door.

Over it's initial nine years the Lift For Life event has raised over $600,000 for the Kidney Cancer Association.

The event is player-run and led by senior offensive lineman Mike Farrell (chapter president, junior offensive lineman Eric Shrive (chapter vice president), senior linebacker Mike Yancich (chapter secretary) and junior center Ty Howle (chapter operations head).

This year, aside from being held outdoors and over a focused two-hour period, the format will surely have its own new twists with input from Conditioning Director Craig Fitzgerald who is already known for introducing new intriguing aspects to Penn State's strength program like 'the tug' and sand pit.

This event is a great summer tradition for Penn State fans to cheer on the team, meet the players and support a great cause.

Uplifting Athletes, Inc. is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that operates as a national charter and serves as a uniting force to help change the perception of rare diseases.
