UVA: Belton to Miss Game

The sophomore tailback did not make the trip due to an ankle injury. Day will get the start vs. Virginia here Saturday.

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. -- Penn State tailback Bill Belton, who is dealing with an ankle injury, did not make the trip for the Nittany Lions' Saturday game with Virginia here.

FOS was on hand when PSU arrived at the team hotel and did not spot Belton getting off a team bus. A short while later, Belton tweeted, “Goodluck to my brothers tomorrow. Bring this W back. #SupaSix #beatUVA”

Throughout the week, Lion coach Bill O'Brien said Belton was “day to day” after injuring an ankle in the season-opener vs. Ohio. On Thursday, O'Brien announced that backup Derek Day would get the start against Virginia but said there was still a chance Belton would play.
