I'm taking things slow right now, and still trying to plan some other visits, so I'm not in much of a rush, Lemelle said.
It went really well. It was a great visit, Lemelle said. The atmosphere was real crazy, and I liked it a lot. I like what Coach (Bill) O'Brien is doing with the offense.
Lemelle especially took note of the fan support made up of 107,818 fans inside Beaver Stadium.
It was crazy how many people were there and stayed the whole time, Lemelle said. It was real nice that the fans show a lot of support for the football team and the school.
The 5-foot-11, 170-pound prospect also had the opportunity to talk to Penn State's staff before it headed out to the field for pregame preparations.
When I got up there, I went to the recruiting lounge and got some lunch with some other players, and then talked to Coach (Larry) Johnson and Coach (Stan) Hixon, Lemelle said. They pretty much just told me they'd love for me to come to Penn State, and Coach Hixon told me how much he'd love to coach me and how well I'd fit into this offense.
Hixon coaches the PSU wideouts.
Sitting with other District 3 prospects was an added boon to this Penn State trip.
You know, just seeing these guys are considering, and some of them are already committed to Penn State, it's kind of cool, Lemelle said. It would be like a home away from home, and I get to play against them now, and then I'd be able to play with them.
It was a great trip, but I'm still open to anyone and anything, and I haven't narrowed down yet or anything like that, Lemelle said. If someone comes along and wants me to visit or wants to show some interest, I'll definitely look at them.
With a week left in his final high school season -- Lemelle's Bishop McDevitt squad will travel to Palmyra before heading to the playoffs -- the senior is focused on finishing strong, a visit or two, and continue to build his relationship with his recruiting coach, Larry Johnson.
Once we hit playoffs, most of our games will be Friday nights, so I might try and take a visit or two on Saturdays after games, Lemelle said. But right now, I'm just focusing on us doing the best we can this season. I talk to Coach Johnson every week or every other week, and he's a real nice guy. We have a good connection.
