Obeng-Agyapong Honored as POG

In what was head-to-head close vote, PSU safety/linebacker Stephen Obeng-Agyapong was selected the Player of the Syracuse Game by Nittany Lion fans.

Stephen Obeng-Agyapong was honored by Penn State fans as the Player of the Syracuse game. The safety/linebacker had a stellar day, grabbing eight tackles, one sack and forcing one fumble, recovering one fumble and grabbing an interception.

The effort in PSU's 23-17 victory earned him 37 percent of the fan vote, edging out kicker Sam Ficken who was perfect on the day, going three for three on field goals, including a career long 46-yarder, two for two on extra points and for for six on kickoff touchbacks.

Ficken ended up with 27 percent of the vote, but was neck-and-neck with Obeng-Agyapong for the majority of the voting.

The Fight On State Player of the Game is the first and only honor given to Penn State players by Penn State fans. Voting is conducted exclusively on FightOnState.com after every Nittany Lion football game.
