WTAJ chief meteorologist Joe Murgo let's us know.
Hello Nittany Nation!
So far we've lucked out for the first two of three November home games. The big question is will we make it three for three? I think when the game is done Saturday, some people will say yes, but others will say no.
Weather will not be a concern to those traveling to Happy Valley Saturday morning with sunshine, some clouds and a bit of a breeze. The wind will pick up and it will be a little chilly for the pregame tailgates, but at least there will be a mix of clouds and sunshine. Temperatures will peak in the lower 40s before the game and then drop to near 40 for the kickoff.
With a stiff wind, temperatures falling into the 30s and an increasing chance for flurries and snow showers, I suggest a heavier coat, gloves and hat for the game. There is even the chance for a little whitening of the ground by the end of the game as temperatures drop into the 30s.
The wind, cold and the possibility for late-game snow showers may also affect the players on the field, along with the fans in the stands.
Temperatures will continue to drop through the 30s for the post-game tailgates. Travel home to the east should not be much of an issue, but keep in mind that there will be enough snow showers to make the roads slick as you head to the west.
