Lions Pierce Vandy, Land OT Brosnan

The offensive tackle from Illinois is the third Commodore commit to flip to Penn State since James Franklin was hired in Happy Valley.

Yet another Class of 2014 prospect is following James Franklin from Vanderbilt to Penn State.

According to's Beth Long, Monday night, Brendan Brosnan, a three-star offensive lineman from Maine South High in Park Ridge, Ill., committed to the Nittany Lions. He had previously been committed to the Commodores.

He is the third former Vandy commit to flip to Penn State.

Brosnan will help the Lions at a position of need. The 6-foot-6, 275-pounder projects as a tackle at the college level.

Prior to the coaching change at Penn State, the Nittany Lions had shown little interest in Brosnan.

Brosnan was something of a late bloomer. He checked in at 6-3, 170 as a high school freshman.
