Myles Hartsfield came away from his verbal commitment to Penn State with a sore right hand. That was the price he had to pay for telling Nittany Lion coach James Franklin of the big decision in person.
The New Jersey standout defensive back actually made up his mind June 2, telling his parents he was picking PSU over Rutgers. But he waited until traveling to Happy Valley Sunday — where he was set to take part in a summer football camp — to break the news to Franklin eye-to-eye.
The first-year Lion coach was so excited he clamped Hartsfield in an extremely hearty handshake.
We caught up with the Class of 2015 DB to get the lowdown on his commitment, Franklin's reaction and much more. Check it out — and get to know Hartsfield a little — in the video above.
