Recruiting Map

Defensive Coordinator Bob Shoop

PA Areas:Fayette and Westmoreland County

National Area:Shoop is not tied to a state, but rather is the head honcho on all defender recruiting across the country.

2015 Name to Know: Shoop has been building a relationship with Philadelphia, Pa., St. John's four-star corner John Reid for a while. Expect that to continue, as Shoop tries to land one of Pennsylvania's top-ranked players.

Offensive Coordinator John Donovan

PA Areas: Seven counties east of State College

National Area: Central New Jersey

2015 Name to Know:: Donovan spent much of the January and spring contact periods running around all parts of the Garden State. He will continue to keep four-star quarterback Brandon Wimbush in the Lions' fold.

Defensive Line Coach Sean Spencer

PA Areas: Bucks County, Berks County and the Lehigh Valley

National Areas: Baltimore, Atlanta and New England

2015 Name to Know:: Spencer has strong ties in Georgia, and if the Lions earn an official visit from senior three-star defensive end Russell Ude, the credit can be chalked up to Spencer.

Offensive Line Coach Herb Hand

PA Areas: Northwest Pennsylvania — Erie and the surrounding nine counties.

National Areas: New York, Nashville, Indianapolis, Cincinnati, Louisville and offensive linemen nationally.

2015 Name to Know:: Virginia doesn't cross into any of the state's Hand covers, but as the nationwide leader on offensive linemen, he will work hard to keep interest brewing from four-star tackle Matthew Burrell.

Offensive Recruiting Coord. Josh Gattis

PA Areas: Chester County, Philadelphia County, Delaware County

National Areas: South Jersey from Burlington County and south, Delaware, and Tampa, Fla.

2015 Name to Know:: Gattis doubles as the wide receiver's coach, and a talented 2015 three-star pass catcher, Irvin Charles, remains on his watch. The receiver will visit University Park in July.

Running Backs Coach Charles Huff

PA Areas: Central Pennsylvania and State College.

National Area: Maryland, Washington D.C., and Michigan.

2015 Name to Know:: Huff played a big role in the Lions' strong class of 2015 start in the DMV, and that included many stops in the area. Huff began the relationship-building process with a pair of now commitments — DT Adam McLean and DE Jon Holland — before Spencer joined him in closing the deal.

Linebackers Coach Brent Pry

PA Areas: Lancaster, York, and Harrisburg.

National Area: Northern Virginia, Northern Georgia, and pockets of South Carolina.

2015 Name to Know:: Pry was the lead man on the charge for class of 2015 running back pledge Andre Robinson from Harrisburg Bishop McDevitt.

Defensive Recruiting Coord. Terry Smith

PA Areas: Pittsburgh area.

National Areas: From Youngstown, Ohio to Cleveland, North Carolina, and Orlando and surrounding areas.

2015 Name to Know:: Smith's ties in western Pennsylvania and the WPIAL are long standing, and he's positioned the Lions to have a chance of landing four-star Seneca Central Valley corner Jordan Whitehead.

Quarterbacks Coach Ricky Rahne

PA Areas: Northeast Pennsylvania.

National Areas: Northern New Jersey, Chicago, Jacksonville and national quarterbacks.

2016 Names to Know:: Rahne has many connections in the Windy City, and you can expect to see the Lions actively recruiting the area. With Wimbush in the fold, we jump ahead to 2016 here, where the quarterback guru is actively recruiting PA slinger Brandon McIlwain and New York passer Jake Zembiec. Each has an offer.
