Barbour Named Penn State Athletic Director

Former Cal AD will take over the position in mid-August, it was announced Saturday.

Penn State introduced Sandy Barbour as its new athletic director during a press conference at Beaver Stadium Saturday. The former AD at Cal, she will come on board Aug. 18, replacing Dave Joyner.

”I’m all in,” she said at the press conference.

Penn State president Eric Barron called Barbour the first choice of the university and a unanimous choice of the school’s selection committee.

Barron said Joyner will remain with the university in an advisory capacity.
