FOS TV: Penn State Sets Down in Ireland

Check out the Nittany Lion travel party as it arrived in Dublin for the 2014 season opener.

DUBLIN -- It was a bit of a spectacle when the Penn State football team cleared customs and arrived in Terminal 2 of the Dublin Airport Wednesday morning.

A couple of dozen media types were on hand, featuring mostly PSU beat people but also at least two photographers from Ireland. There were a fair number of Nittany Lion fans there, too, but it was difficult to tell exactly how many because so many folks in general were bustling about the busy airport.

And when the cameras went into action as members of the Penn State contingent began to enter the arrivals area -- led by new school president Eric Barron -- many people were trying to figure out exactly what was going on. This included locals waiting for other travelers to return home and -- of course -- ordinary folks who were emerging from customs.

Meanwhile, after the overnight flight from Harrisburg, many members of the 300-plus member Penn State traveling party -- which included 118 players -- still appeared a tad groggy.

The players were greeted with windy, cool weather, as temperatures were in the 50s. Some jumped right on the five buses reserved for the team. Others milled about for a bit before hopping on board.
