PISCATAWAY, N.J. — Penn State coach James Franklin's voice was not all there following the Nittany Lions' … uh … thrilling 13-10 win over Rutgers here Saturday night.
That was perfectly understandable. Though the Scarlet Knight were playing in their first game as a member of the Big Ten, they settled comfortably into the conference's taffy-pull style of play. And after only a few series, it was kind of obvious this one would go down to the wire.
It did. And Penn State escaped, improving to 3-0 on the season.
And afterward, even a hoarse Franklin did not seem to mind discussing the outcome.
