Lions Upend No. 9 Hokies

Penn State wrestling advances to 5-0 with a 20-15 victory over Virginia Tech.

The No. 5 Nittany Lions hosted No. 9 Hokies Friday evening in front of a capacity crowd at Rec Hall. It was a tight match that saw five lead changes and ultimately ended in dramatic fashion with Jimmy Lawson clinching the 20-15 victory over Virginia Tech'sNo. 5 Ty Walz. It was the first loss of the season for the Hokies who previously stunned No. 4 Ohio State with a 19-18 victory.

Penn State now advances to 5-0 on the season heading into the holiday break. The grapplers will head back into action on January 1 in the Southern Scuffle.
