Hand: 9

Arm: 31

Number: PK04

Bench: Ficken did not bench.

Comments: Hull definitely improved his status by performing well in field testing and running drills. … Hull's 3-cone (5th), 20-yard shuttle (tied for fourth) and 60-yard shuttle (third) were all outstanding when ranked against the other LBs. …Hull's 40 was tied for 15 among the LBs. ... Hull did not participate in the broad jump or vertical jump. … Hull was second among the LBs on the bench, and was one of only two men at the position to pass 30 reps.

Jesse James

Height: 6-7

Weight: 261

Hand: 9 3/4

Arm: 33

Number: TE10

Bench: 26 Reps

40: 4.83

20-Yard Shuttle: 4.50

60-Yard Shuttle: 12.15

Broad Jump: 109.0

Vertical: 37.5

Comments: James helped himself with a solid day in the field testing. In what is looking like a down year for tight ends in the NFL Draft, his decision to leave college early is looking better. He has a chance to move into the top five at the position, though that may only translate into a fourth-round slot. He'll probably be the first former Lion taken. … James killed it in the jumping drills, ranking first among TEs in the broad and second in the vert. He was also good in the 60-yard shuttle (fifth among TEs) and 20-yard shuttle (seventh). … James’ 4.83 40 ranked sixth among the 12 tight ends who ran, but it was considered a slower group than usual. ... James is the tallest TE at the Combine, but he has relatively small hands and short arms from someone of his size. … His performance on the bench tied for second among tight ends, but was not up to snuff with the 27 reps he did at Lift for Life last summer.

Donovan Smith

Height: 6-6

Weight: 338

Hand: 10 5/8

Arm: 34 3/8

Number: OL50

Bench: 26 Reps

40: 5.27

20-Yard Shuttle: 4.79

3-Cone: 7.95

Broad Jump: 109.0

Vertical: 32

Comments: Smith did not appear to have the sort of Combine that will significantly improve his Draft stock. He still projects as a later-round pick. … Smith excelled in the jumps, tying for fifth among the OL in the vert and seventh in the broad. … He was not nearly as good in the 20-yard shuttle (28th) and 3-cone (18th). … Smith's official 40 of 5.27 ranked 19th among offensive linemen. … Smith's performance on the bench has to be considered a disappointment considering he did 25 at last summer's Lift for Life Challenge at Penn State. The 26 tied for 13th among OL. … Smith tied for third heaviest OL at the Combine, but he was three pounds lighter than he weighed in at for the Senior Bowl.
