COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Miles Sanders stood out at Nike's Opening event in Columbus here Sunday, and not only because he took home running back MVP honor and earned a trip to the national event later this summer.
Sanders also walked into the heart of Buckeye country sporting his Penn State colors, which included Nittany Lion logos on his visor and shorts.
During a break in camp, the Pittsburgh Woodland Hills High standout insisted he remains 100 percent Penn State when it comes to his commitment. But he admitted he has had to stop spending as much time on Twitter because there always seems to be some rumor surfacing suggesting otherwise.
I talk to my mom and (others), he said. They just tell me just ignore them.
Asked specifically about the Nittany Lion program, he said, It's growing and it's getting better, and that's what I like about it. Just being part of that growing process means a lot.
