Clayton Getting General Sense for Penn State

Nittany Lions the latest to offer the rapidly rising DE from Georgia.

Dooly County (Ga.) High senior-to-be Antonneous Clayton received his 26th offer Monday, with Penn State joining a long list of suitors.

The three-star defensive end tells FightOnState.com he was not expecting the offer from PSU.

”Coach Tyler Bowen (a graduate assistant) told me he saw my highlight tape and believes I could dominate the game at Penn State,” Clayton said. “I had no idea the offer was coming.”

Clayton said he doesn't know much about the style of defense the Nittany Lions use, but he is going to do some research on the schemes. He did say this offer will make him think carefully on his decision.

The 6-foot-3, 217-pound defensive end is considering a visit to the Nittany Lions' recruiting “Lasch Bash” in July. But he was so surprised by the offer that he had yet to check his schedule to see if he has any conflicts.

Clayton tells FightOnState.com he has no top five or favorites. He did mention that Auburn, Tennessee, Florida, Florida State and Clemson are recruiting him the hardest right now. The Georgia defensive end plans on making his college decision after his senior season.

We expect Clayton to receive a fourth star from Scout.com in the near future.
