Penn State Climbing On Hill’s List

The 2017 passer from Maryland was on campus over the weekend. Get the lowdown right here.

Kasim Hill from Gilman School in Baltimore visited for Penn State's big Lasch Bash event Saturday and camped the next day. The junior-to-be quarterback holds five offers, including one from Penn State.

“It was fun hanging out with all the recruits and some of the players,” Hill said. “Also getting to talk to the coaches. I enjoyed it a lot.”

Penn State already holds one QB commitment for its Class of 2017 in the form of Ohio standout Sean Clifford. And that has many Nittany Lion fans wondering if James Franklin and company will take two passers for the class.

“The staff is planning on taking two quarterbacks,” Hill said. “We talked about the offense and just getting to know it.”

Does Hill see himself fitting into the PSU offense?

“Yes, I do,” he said. “I was understanding it pretty well. I see some similarities between their offense to the one I am in now. The coaches told me I did very well during the camp.'

Hill is unsure if he is the top remaining quarterback on the Lions' recruiting board, but he does know the staff is very interested in him. And that interest is mutual.

“Yes, I'm very interested in Penn State,” Hill said.

The 6-foot-2, 192-pound junior-to-be doesn't have a top five right now, but will be visiting three schools next weekend.

“I'm heading to North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia Tech,” he said.

He doesn't see himself picking a school anytime soon, noting that its way too early in the process to think of committing.
