Penn State played host to Johnstown (Pa.) High cornerback Exree Loe Friday. The 6-foot, 171-pound junior-to-be still holds a lone offer (from Pitt), but is garnering interest from Virginia Tech, Virginia, Penn State, Toledo, Cincinnati and West Virginia.
Loe will camp with the Hokies Sunday. He camped at PSU in June, so the latest trip was more about checking out the facilities and such.
Of course, he also spent time talking to defensive coordinator and cornerbacks coach Bob Shoop.
It was good, Loe said. We toured the campus and went into the stadium. I love the campus and stadium. Coach Shoop told me he really likes me and is going to offer after a couple of games this season.
In other words, after getting to work with Loe at camp last month, it sounds like Shoop is waiting to see some of his senior film before officially extending an offer.
During Friday's visit, Loe was also able to make arrangements for a future trip to Happy Valley.
I'll be back for the Whiteout game vs. Michigan on Nov. 21, he said.
When we spoke with Loe last month, he said he did not have a top five or any specific favorites. Nothing has changed on that front since, he said.
