It was Photo Day in Beaver Stadium Sunday, meaning the media was able to get its first look at Penn State's true freshmen in uniform. As usual, FOS photographer Harvey Levine was on hand to capture the event in images.
What did the newest Nittany Lions have to say to the press?
Since it was Photo Day, interviews with coaches and/or players were not part of the proceedings. And even if Q&A sessions had been allowed, head coach James Franklin has a general policy where true freshmen are not made available to talk to the media until they've been on campus for a season.
So for now, checking out photos of the newbies is about the best for which you can hope.
We'll allow you to eyeball the various freshmen before making any specific comments on them ourselves. But generally speaking, two things seem to stand out about the class.
First, most of the players appear to be very well put together, even though the majority of them arrived on campus in late June. It sure looks like Dwight Galt's strength program is already paying off for them.
Second, there are some pretty tall dudes in the class.
One final note: after two days of preseason camp (the second in shoulder pads), the youngsters actually seemed to enjoy the diversion of Photo Day.
