Class of 2017 Four-Star LB Roberts Talks PSU

The Delaware product is drawing interest from heavy hitters, including the Nittany Lions.

Four-star Class of 2017 linebacker Avery Roberts holds more than 20 offers, including one from Penn State. The 6-foot-2, 215-pounder from Concord (Del.) High has some heavy hitters paying attention.

“Right now, I’m really getting a lot interest from LSU, Michigan State, Auburn and Penn State,” Roberts said. “Coach (Brent) Pry and Coach (Josh) Gattis are both recruiting me to PSU.”

What exactly is the Nittany Lions’ pitch to Roberts?

“They’re telling me PSU is Linebacker U,” he said. “They told me they have huge (a) alumni (base) and how I would fit well in their defense. All of that is appealing to me.”

Roberts intends to visit Penn State at some point this season, but has not settled on a particular game yet.

He has no favorites or a list of top schools yet, but wants to make his college decision in his senior season.
