When the Penn State football team held its annual Photo Day at Beaver Stadium earlier this month, it only seemed as if there were as many folks in the staff picture as there were in the photo of the entire team.
For the record, 34 people were in the staff photo — 33 men and one woman — all outfitted in matching white golf shirts and most smiling for the camera. A few minutes earlier, strength coach Dwight Galt said, “This is the most white polos I’ve ever seen in one place.”
And this did not include a lot of the people who are working in Lasch Building these days, such as administrative support staff, academic support aides, athletic communications staff, student assistants and even a volunteer (we’re looking at you Jim Haslett).
James Franklin's staff (including support personnel) is significantly larger than anything that was seen in these parts during Joe Paterno’s long run at the helm of the Lions.
Why is it so big?
Well, we asked Franklin about that recently. See what he had to say about it in the video above.
