Penn State coach James Franklin met the media after practice Wedneday, and he kind of addressed the controversies at Rutgers. Scarlet Knight head coach Kyle Flood will not be on the sideline for Saturday night's showdown at Beaver Stadium after being suspended by the university for improperly contacting a professor on behalf of a player..
"I've never been in this situation before,” Franklin said of preparing for a team that will be without its head coach.
He said the Nittany Lions (1-1) are aware of the situation at Rutgers (1-1) but are more concerned with preparing for the game than anythng else.
"The biggest thing is we focus on Penn State and our standards of how we want to practice and how we want to play and how we want to prepare,” Franklin said.
